Our goal is to deliver articles and educational resources that show how a person, a group of people, a community, an organization, or a business has been successful in creating and maintaining a program that is both economically viable and environmentally sustainable.

 

We believe that by demonstrating functioning models of success, no matter how small, people everywhere can then learn from that success and build upon it, to the benefit of their own towns, communities, and organizations, thus leading to a more socially and ecologically responsible world.

 

In short, CivilizedNation.com is a centralized home for creative, progressive, and successful ideas. It is a magnet for the positive stories of change that exist around the world.

 

With an evolving list of books, music, movies, educational resources and up to date articles, we hope to encourage new ways of approaching old problems, finding solutions, and creating an interactive community that is well-informed and inspired.

 

 

About Us:

 

Ali Ehteshami is a full time undergraduate student at University of Massachusetts Amherst, double majoring in political science and philosophy.  He enjoys reading, photography, movies, and playing soccer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chris Kocek is a graduate student at University of Texas at Austin, specializing in cause-related advertising and communications.  Among other things, he has worked as a National Park Ranger, an ESL instructor, a documentary filmmaker, a radio DJ, and a freelance photographer/writer.  Currently, he is a Teaching Assistant at UT Austin, writing articles for Austin Monthly and Austin Home & Living.
